The play area at Puglia Outlet Village is conceived as a compact leisure environment where children and adults can pause, play and relax as part of the wider retail experience. Rather than treating the space as a conventional playground, the project combines recreation, landscape and informal seating to create an accessible garden-like setting within the outlet destination.

Hammocks suspended from lightweight metal structures provide unexpected places for rest, while colourful rubber flooring defines areas dedicated to children’s activities. The existing central tensile structure is reinterpreted as a lounge area, giving visitors a sheltered and comfortable space for longer breaks.

Trees, planted zones and generous greenery soften the commercial environment and create the atmosphere of a small urban garden. The different elements are designed to support multiple forms of use, from active play to quiet relaxation, allowing families and other visitors to share the same space comfortably. The result is a simple but distinctive intervention that expands the role of the outlet beyond shopping, introducing a more informal and human dimension to the visitor journey.
